I was born in New York state and moved to Pennsylvania when I was 10 years old. I grew up in a town of 2,000 people and enjoyed the small town life throughout high school. However, I did not enjoy the winters which started before Halloween and lasted until Easter, so I decided to attend college in the south. I graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Retail & Consumer Science and a Minor in Business Administration. Upon graduating I enrolled in graduate school at the University of Tennessee to pursue a Master of Science in Sports Management which I received in 2004. I worked at the John C. Hodges Library in the Circulation and Reserve Departments from my freshman year at UT until graduating with my Masters in 2004. Working at the library allowed me to attend graduate school at no cost and was instrumental in shaping my professional career.
I currently reside in Knoxville in a house I bought five years ago with my dogs Gem, Grover, and Willis. I love doing yard work, house projects, and have renovated every room in my home since first moving in. I volunteer for Adopt a Golden, Knoxville as a foster and absolutely love helping dogs in need. Animal rescue/advocacy is my true passion in life. I couldn’t imagine my life without my best four-legged friends. I have fostered over 50 dogs since 2010 and hope to continue fostering for years to come!
